My A/c Needs To Be Recharged

I have been quoted for recharging my A/C for about 150 dollars...


I heard all you need to do is buy some type of kit or something and plug it in...


Does anyone know how to recharge the A/C on a 1996 mitsu. eclipse?

just went to autozone and asking for the kit, they will recharge for you for free.( ofcouse after bought that ).

How can you tell when your A/C needs to be recharged? I was talking to a neighbor of mine... was gonna do it with his mid-90's Benz... what exactly does it do? How do you know when to do it?

I got into a car accident a while ago, and they told me they would recharge the a/c in the summer if I chose to have them do it, then they gave me the money and i put it in the bank...


So there is no a/c at all warm air comes out when I turn the A/C on....


Isnt it cheaper to go through auto zone or even do it my self.

Where is the nozzle located on the eclipse.

Just go have it done somewhere. It's not that complicated of a task but you have to get the right hoses and all that bullshit. I would just take it somewhere and have it done correctly and alot easier.

autozone really does that for u?.... knowing a lil bit about cars, i wouldn't do that personally... but if you wanna go cheap... but i did get away w/ it w/ wife's car w/out any negative effects

those kits do work if you got a constant leak & just wanna top off the system once or twice a year...

what the shops do is to evacuate the system wif a vacuuum pump/test for leaks in the system/ lets u know if there's seals or what-not are leaking/ replace them upon your confirmation for them to repair/replace said seals/ recharge system to factory specs.

Technically speaking if you need to recharge your ac then you have a leak somewhere in the system. You may spend more, depending on the size of the leak, in recharge kits then it would cost to locate and replace the faulty component. Plus, the recharge kits, as far as I know, dont put vacuum on the system to remove the moisture in the lines when a leak has occured. Having moisture in the system is bad, if water or liquid 134a goes into the compressor now your shit out of a compressor. Think about it this way if you use an aftermarket stop leak refrigerant and it stops the leak what do you think it does to the other moving components?
