A/C not working on 92 Lincoln Cont.

I have put alot of work in this car and would like to keep it on the road. The A/C is not working and if I can fix it I will continue to drive it. I have had a very good retired mechanic work on it and diagnosed it as the integrated control module. I purchased a new ICM but the A\c is still not working. The freon level is correct and we have bypass the low freon switch to make sure that is not the issue.

I enjoy driving this car but with summer here I need the A/C or will need to look for another car. I hate to do that. Have switched out the air ride and have less then 8 months on a new head gasket replacement.

Why would you care about the ICM?

Are you sure that its not something wrong with the A/C itself?

I just went through a similar problem with my '90. It ended up being the AC clutch. The clutch was too weak to fully engage the compressor. After repair, it blows snow balls

Re: A/C not working on 92 Lincoln Cont.

try refilling the a/c system. I have an 80 Lincoln Mark VI and propane did the trick and isn't only blowing snow balls but I'm pretty sure it's changing atmospheric temperatures outside the car!

P.S.: Don't listen to anyone about the use of propane in an A/C system. I also filled up my grandma's 94 F-250 Ext Cab Long Box lowrider (it has factory runningboards that make it look lowered) and her A/C works like the day she bought it. My car hasn't blown up, neither has hers, and it likely never will.

Re: A/C not working on 92 Lincoln Cont.

Did you ever find a fix. My Air just went out and I took it to get it repaired and they told me it was an electrical issue, that the fuse was not being sent any juice. I am trying to troubleshoot now. ANyone got any Ideas?
