Air intake duct

The air intake duct from the resonator to the throttle body on my 92 GT has a couple of cracks in it. I replaced the first one at around 93k miles, and now this one has cracks in it after only 69k miles.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Is there a non-Ford brand available?

Would using Armor All on it help? Maybe tire foam?

Thanks

Re: Air intake duct

Here is an online co. 1aauto that sells an air intake hose for 92 EScort GT 1.8. Also you can find other companies by searching air intake hose 1992 Ford Escort GT. The link below is the best of them all for price. $26.95 plus $10 shipping. Others are $66-$75.

Advance auto has an air intake hose for $55.99. It is a Dorman part# 696200.
Auto Zone has an air intake hose for $61.99. It is a Dorman part#696200.
Napa Auto has an air iintake hose for $51.99.. It is a BK #6101152.

Yeah. Armor All or tire foam would keep it from deteriorating. The heat in the engine bay dries out the rubber and makes it crack.
