Re: 99 V6 code help
I would buy a new sensor, replace the current one and then disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes so clear the codes. I don’t know as far as the tac goes.

Re: 99 V6 code help
Kevin, Thanks for the answer. I quess I should of posted what I have already done . The prob. with the truck is it missfires on hard excel. I have replaced Camshaft sensor, Crank shaft pos.sen, Vehc.speed sen, Mass airflo sen, plugs, plug wires, distributer cap, and rotor. Disconnected the batt. every time and the code 0340 camshaft pos.sen. A. Bank 1 circuit mal. comes up. I have the Actron OBD2 super scanner. The tac started by jumping all over and then quit compleatly. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Dan

You need to get it on a real scanner that will read cam synch signals, the dist may be off slightly creating a mis alignment of the rotor to the cap, the signal reads in degrees plus or minus, degerees close to 0 is the best, you must rev the engine over 1k to get this reading, not sure if the Actron reads this.
