Rust?
Hey,
Just a quick question for you guys... what would be the best way to simulate rust? I am going to do a model of Mater from the movie cars, and I was thinking talcom powder mixed in with rust color... not sure, just need some advice. Thanks in advance, Chris |

Re: Rust?
Take a look at this post of mine. also you can look in the rest of the thread for the engine/exhaust post where I also did some "rusting".
If it's of any use and you would like to know more, you can PM me.

Re: Rust?
Here's an article on rust that might be helpful:
http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?...icle&artid=846 Personally, I use Mr Surfacer 500 and stipple it onto the surface to be rusted. (basically smash an old paintbrush onto it) This gives you a texture. Then paint it brown, and when that's dried I use Mig Pigments (rust color) to give it the final rust look. Here are a couple examples of mine. Notice the exhausts: ![]() ![]()
