best way to remove an engine
Ok so I'm getting ready to pull my engine and I'm sizing things up trying to figure out the best way. From the bottom or out the top?
If I drop it out the bottom I have to take off the whole front suspension right? Whats the chance of causing something to become unaligned doing that? Also I stumbled across this article: http://www.valvoline.com/carcare/art...=pht20020701ch Which says a tool has been made to remove an LT1 from the top. I'm really torn between which way would be better. Of everything I have read, half the people are for taking it out the top and half the bottom. What do you guys think? From what I have read it seems to me like it would be easier to take it out the top with a happy hooker, and there would be less chance for me to mess anything up.

Re: best way to remove an engine
I have always done threw the top but I hear from people that have done both, that threw the bottom is easier.

My personal choice? 500 megaton warhead
Seriously, it seems to be a heck of alot easier going out the bottom given half the damn thing is under the dashboard. |
