how well does aftermarket fenders fit??

Just ordered a body kit, so i figured I'd go ahead and upgrade to some aftermarket fenders... well... being that I have to pay some one to paint the kit, as well as put it on, i would like to save some money and put the fenders on myself. .but if they do not fit properly, I won't be able to do it being that i have no body shop tools to make any type of adjustments. So i'm hoping for a direct fitment. I mean i don't see why fenders wouldn't be a direct fitment to begin with. But, anyone with any knowledge on this matter? thank you in advance

EDIT: just realized this isn't my normal user name... I can't remember my password to my other one.

Re: how well does aftermarket fenders fit??

well usually there are always going to be fitment issues. If you got the kit from a dependable vendor and it's a legitimate name brand, I wouldn't worry too much. However if it's a no-name of ebay fender, expect some issues.

Also, this goes in the appearance forum, so you know.

As long as they aren't fiberglass they shouldn't have too much of a fitment problem. I got some fiberglass Z3 fenders one time and they wouldn't fit worth SHIT. I didn't even try and force them on, just sold them and let someone else deal with them.

Re: how well does aftermarket fenders fit??

Why do companies produce a product if it's not even going to work? That is seriously retarded. All you have to do is test fit it on one car and then make the mold. Shouldn't be too difficult...

Maybe it would be helpful if people posted their experiences with fitment and quality of parts from the different companies so people will know which ones will work and which companies should go out of business for being incompetent.

That's how good companies make their parts, like WingsWest and such. But when you start getting 3rd and 4th molds (a mold of a mold of a mold of a mold) shit starts to fit wrong. That's where all those e-bay kits come from that fit like shit, they are usually 3rd or 4th molds.
