all lights turn on when I hit the brakes
I have a '93 Villager. I just got this car but seems to have a wiring problem. When I turn on the lights the brake lights stay on. When the lights are off they work fine. Here is another twist. When the lights are off and I hit the brakes my interior lights turn on like my A/C controls and my PND123 shifter display and probably other things I havent notice. Its a ghost. I have never seen anything like that. Its like wires got crossed but HOW? Please help. Any Ideas?

Re: all lights turn on when I hit the brakes
Most likely, it's one of your door switches. You know that if your door is open the interior lights would come on? Common problem with villager. Try one door at a time by opening it and kinda slam close it and drive and test the brake sequence. Or try it in a safe area, step on the brake and have someone open and close the door.
It happened to me. Every time I accelerated and turn left, the interior lights would come on. I went to the trouble of tracing wirings, just to find out that my rear door was causing it. |
