Re: rear roll pan question

Nope......

Roll Pan requires hidden hitch behind the roll pan and also a spare tire relocator.....

Thus $$$$$$ ==> SSMMMOOOOOTTTHHHH looking ride (If done right)

Re: rear roll pan question

thats what stops me from getting one, because i need my hitch and i dont have the money to buy the pan then get it painted and after that have to buy a hitch too.

Re: rear roll pan question

If you're going to get a roll pan I strongly recommend steel. Sir Michaels.

Re: rear roll pan question

Hey sportin 83, did you repaint the chrome piece on your front grille? I have been doing some painting on an old truck, and now I want to paint everything in sight. What other parts did you paint to match? Did you just remove the chrome and repaint?
Please explain..
Thanks!!
(Nice truck BTW)

I am all with you on that. It is worth the time and money as the others will flex and flap while driving...... And then after you catch something on the pan it will rip if it not steel.

Hanibal,

There are 2 ways to go about painting the grille. Use the etching primer as normal primer will not stick to the chrome.

The best thing to do is go to the junkyard and get an unpainted grille from a work truck and do all the painting as you want it. Even with etching primer if a rock hits hard enough you will still have paint chip off and show chrome. I found out on my '01 after I had the chrome painted pewter. My bumper was also done the same way and it showed chips also.

Good Luck

well i painted my grill, door handles and tailgate handle and started mirrors, got 1 done last fall and never have done the other yet. been lazy!!!! i sanded the chrome off until i got to the plastic under it, best thing to use would be a small vibratiing sander, by hand takes a while. then i got color matched paint from auto parts store and painted and clear coated them.

Re: rear roll pan question

its not the exact color becasue of some fading and i being a different brand than factory but as close as you can get without ordering factory. i think it looks good and it turned out very nice.

Re: rear roll pan question

i think that pan is for the hidden hitch though. because the factory hitch sits to low for is to fit in the roll pan.
