Re: 1993 Jimmy Transmission fluid change

Auto parts stores will have a transmission filter "kit". It includes the filter and a new pan gasket. Drop the pan, change the filter, install the new gasket, reinstall the pan, add fluid. Don't overfill. Check the fluid level with the engine idling at operating temperature, in park while the vehicle is on a level surface. Hold your foot on the brake and move the gearshift through the gears between checking the fluid level. It should take approximately 4.5 quarts of DEXRONIII

1993 Jimmy Transmission fluid change

AK Jimmy... I went thru the same thing on my 94. Be aware that on my model, I had to jack the transmission up just enough to clear the front of the pan past the exhaust cross over pipe. A real pain in the ass. Also, be extremly aware of the ATF level in the pan once everything is back together. The torgue on those pan bolts are very light. If you over fill the pan you will blow ATF past the gasket and lose most of it on the shop floor.

Hope this helps
