wheel hop?

i put 2 new front axles and a left side axle seal in my friends 95 legacy wagon. the seal made me nervous because i had to unscrew the side piece, but i marked it, and put it right back where it was. now when you turn and accelerate you get what feels like wheel hop. if you are coasting while turning you get nothing. is this a side bearing, or an axle problem. it feels like a limited slip that is locking up but it only acts up when accelerating in a turn. by the way it is an automatic tranny.

I , too, always suspect my own work first

However, I'd suspect the AWD unit (it is AWD, correct?) is beginning to get itself into trouble. Are all the tires matched (brand, size, pressure, # of miles?). A simple test of the AWD unit is to put the car into FWD (front wheel drive) mode. Pop the hood and look for the fuse cover marked FWD (generally located where the firewall meets the hood in front of the passenger). Pop a GM fuse into it. Start car. Does the FWD light come on in the dash? Drive car and see if there are any changes to the wheel hop you describe.
