new stock/upgrade BOV choices

Well, ive recently realized im in need of a new BOV/BPV (ty Igo).

I want something that recirculates (closed loop). Sound in not important, but something I can hear would be nice. Another question, is there any performance difference im gonna notice between the stock one and say a TurboXS or Greddy?

So far the only recirc. ones ive found are these:

Stock Mitsu. replacement
TurboXS Racing Bypass Valve Type H-34
Greddy Type-RS (w/Closed Loop Adapter)
Tomei Recirculating Blow-off Valve

I wish i didnt have to spent $200 but it is what it is i guess.

anyone know of any others or have any recommendations? TY guys

Greg

Re: new stock/upgrade BOV choices

I think there is a link in the FAQ for John Monnin's comparison. Good stuff there.

Only real difference is I noticed my turbos respooling a fraction of a second faster it seemed. It might have just been psychological, but others have reported it too. I went with the Greddy type-s. Good bov, but overpriced. you can get a used dsm for real cheap. If I were to do it over again, I think that is the route I would have gone.

I haven't heard much praise for the turboxs stuff, so can't help you there.

And I think the type-rs is the same as the s except made to handle more boost (overkill unless you are going with big td05s), so why spend the extra money?

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: new stock/upgrade BOV choices

my turboXS is nice, but a few people have had leakage problems, so like govert said, I'd go with a modified 1st gen DSM one, or get the type-s
