Timing belt tension question
Ok, so when setting the tension on a timing belt, you bolt the auto tensioner on, then use the special tool to set the gap on the tensioner, hand turn it over 6 times, and THEN pull the pin on the auto tensioner? Is this right? If not, can anyone tell me the right way?

Re: Timing belt tension question
I've never used the "special tool". I just set the tension with a torque wrench (non-clicky type) and then set the tensioner so it's up against the arm thingy and then pull the pin out. Works for me every time.
