EvoIII cams are they a upgrade for a 2g?

Well I can get my hands on a set of Evo3 cams for a pretty good price. So I was just wondering if they would be an upgrade for a 2g?

Thanks

Yeah, I know. It has been long! I left once everything started getting screwed up around here. It seems like everything is going well again so I might just stick around.

Yeah dude! I was thinking about your sig picture YESTERDAY. That is so freakin weird.

I dont know about EvoIII cams (I would assume so) but I would think it would be hard to tell if they are really EvoIII cams or not. What is a good price? I know 1g cams are an upgrade and I have some. If the EvoIII's fall through or whatever shoot me a PM. I'll let them go cheap.

Sweet, so is he in Japan? What year were Evo III's made? They may just be the same cams as 1g cams.

Yup I'm in Japan right now. And the Evo III's were made in 1995. Not sure if they are the same cams as 1gs tho.

Re: EvoIII cams are they a upgrade for a 2g?

Hmmmm, weird. Does he have a 6 bolt in it? If he does, I would bet its just the same cams as 1g's. If its a 7 bolt, I bet its the same as yours. Huh, I am confused. I thought Evo III's had 6 bolts but since they are made in 95 they might not.

Re: EvoIII cams are they a upgrade for a 2g?

I'm pretty sure they came with a 7bolt... damn but im not sure. I think they have a slightly more agressive lift then the 1g cams. But i have no clue. Damn its kind of hard to find information on this topic since there arnt any Evo III's in the US.

Re: EvoIII cams are they a upgrade for a 2g?

Its hard to say. The Evo III had 266 hp, assuming 18% drivetrain loss, 212 to the wheels. They did have the Evo III 16g and it doesnt take much to get 212 to the wheels on a Evo III 16g. I thought this might help, but it doesnt help me much. I dont know man. But if you want my cams just let me know, the are going to be my crutches until my FP2's come but as soon as the FP2's come they can go to you.
