Keyless entry on 2002 blazer

I just purchased a 2002 blazer. It did not come with a remote and the dealer I bought it from did not know if it had one. It has power door locks. How do I find out if it has it has romote entry. I have found a romote on ebay but I want to make sure it will work before I purchase it. Can anyone give me some info? Thanks!

Re: Keyless entry on 2002 blazer

Have the dealer service department (Chevy) run the VIN and give you the remote # - all 99 up came with remote door locks I believe - that dealer is stupid to tell you he did not know - oh, a dealer so thats a given! If fact you should have gotten one with the sale unless this was not a Chevy dealer - if it was then I am certain that salesman was stupid. About $15 on eBay.

Look inside of the glove compartment for a sticker with the RPO codes. If your truck has keyless entry It will have the code AU0 listed.

Re: Keyless entry on 2002 blazer

Does your blazer have a button on the back hatch, or a key button. If it has a place for you to put a key in. Then you do not have keyless entry. If it has a solid black button then keyless entry was installed from the factory.

Re: Keyless entry on 2002 blazer

I've read on another thread about adding a keyless entry signal reciever module on an '01 Blazer. I personally have a blazer and was just wandering if anyone knew if it was possible to add one from a wrecked one. I know where about 5 or 6 wrecks are and it would be easy to get my hands on one.If someone knows where the box is located or what the connector looks like please let me know.
