Highlights from the Southern Missouri meet in Springfield, MO
We sat around until around 10pm and then went out to find some street racing. Took forever. After a wild goose chase, sonic on Glenstone to some convenience store on Kearney, following a total poser who was driving a customers porsche and offering us his detailing services, outrageuous prices and like I would ever tell someone to take their car to a guy we know first hand was ragging on a Porsche he didnt own. Anyway from the convenience store we followed some loud ass trucks to braums on Kansas expressway where we were told we would find some races. Well we caught up with someone RedDragon had talked to and he hooked xeudoxus up with a guy who said he would run him in his Honda S2000 turbo, but only later after the heat had cleared up. Well hour to an hour and a half later we go to get the story on when the race will take place and the dude has gone home because he has to work the next day. BITCH.
Well we talk to everyone who knows someone who might... they were all just a bunch of bench racers other than the rednecks who would only race other rednecks. Anyway everyone with anything worth running wouldnt. Finally around 12 we find a guy who tries to find us something, but he cant, well we end up talking him into running. He has a slightly modded mustang GT. First run they set up from a dig.... Matt killed him by I would say 6 car lengths and thats just when he passed us about halfway down the road. We didnt know they were lining up for a second and started to walk back to the meeting point and then we hear that blow off turn to see Matt go by and then.... oh there is the mustang another 6 cars at our spot. Well they come back in and the guy asks if he will go from a roll so he can at least get his tires to hook up, gave him a choice of speed and he picks 30mph, he thought that would put Matt in the bottom of 2nd, WRONG, top of first gear full spool up and max boost. Even from the roll Matt took him by 2 at our spot. They circle and do the same run back, Matt takes him by another 2 or 3 at our spot. We thought there was going to be another but it was over, Matt should watch that rear view, lets off on and gives us some BOV and has a cop right behind him... Lucky bastard didnt get pulled over for it though. As he is pulling in the rednecks are actually talking about how bad assed the car sounded running against the mustang. We went from Jap crap to "wow that sounds mean". Mustang guy was cool took his beating well and shook hands like a man before parting ways, was really in awe that matt would give up his strong spot of traction and run him from a dig. Well after that was over we headed out towards my place so Aaron could get his car and go home. Matt tells me first light we line up at we are going to race, cool with me, I dont mind being owned. Finally get to a flashing red and set up, cop just turned down the road so we wait a second. Start giving it some gas and Matt signals for me to go, lets me take a short lead and starts pulling on me, we hit an S curve side by side and you hear tires biting pavement. Matt takes the lead by a car here, we come over the small hill to the light and he is ahead of me by a car plus, might be two but im not paying attention. Light is red and we lock the brakes, oh shit cop on the other side of the road.....FUCK. Hook right on Campbell and jump on a side street, cop had more important business because he let us be. We get to my place and Matt shows me the data from the run we did 125 in the length of a city block before shutting it down. Matt owned me fair and square but it was fun as hell. I smoked my clutch like a cuban cigar, at least now everyone knows what the stock one smells like, right Adam. |

Well here they are, I dropped off the two rolls after work, 1 hour photo, had 2 discs made to make my uploading easier... hahaha the jackasses loaded them all upside down, so a quick 48 flips later and 15 minutes uploading and you have 48 digital images captured from a 35mm camera on 400 speed film all at about 1.5megs each. If anyone feels like hosting them and loading feel free.
