can you help?
hey wats up guys, i was just wondering if any one could give me some details about a thunderbird, like if u have anything wrong with yours or something, basiclly like a personnal review, and if u could also tell me if there is ANY type of special edition one. i would perferr to talk about newer models (1995-97) so if u have one please help me!
P.S: i really want one of these cars, thats why i am asking

Alright I love mine never had any major problems with it I had to replace the heater core.
The 3.8 T-birds (non sc) had a problem blowing headgaskets. Out of the years you ask about you could get the 95 as an SC, I also think that some of the 95s came with a 40th anniversary edition. I love my T-bird and don't plan on getting rid of it even when I get ready to buy my ranger (Hey she's the one girl that never let me down)

I would try and get one with the 5.0 302. I think in 96, they went to the 4.6. the 5.0 High output is better in my opinion!

I suggest a '96 or '97 4.6L SOHC V8 with the sport option.
'93 was the last year the 5.0L V8 was in a Thunderbird/Cougar. The '94 & '95 3.8L SuperCoupes are high maintenance/high repair cost vehicles. '96 & '97 4.6L SOHC V8s have better cylinder heads, intake manifold, transmission & headlights than the '94/'95 4.6L models. '97 models have "useable" cup-holders but can be swapped into the '96s. Mercury made a 30th Anniversary Cougar in '97.

as long as you stay away from anything that has 3.8L and Ford written on it, you'll be ok. they're a headgasket problem waiting to happen. my 3.8 tbird was pretty reliable before the head gaskets leaked. if its a bird you want, i would opt for one of the V8 models. i love the 5.0L 302 V8 personally.

Having owned a 96 4.6 and currently owning an 86 5.0, I'd most definately recommend the 4.6. To my knowledge the Tbird never got the HO 5.0, and while it's fairly cheap to convert the standard output motors to HO, it's a lot of work.

I love my bird, i have a 5.0 but for a 5 liter v8 mine feels kinda wimpy to me... i have never driven any of the other 4.6 v8's but it definetly is beastlier than the 3.8... also gas, i only get about an average of 12 mpg... just something to consider

I love my Bird, but i just had to sink $300 for new front coil springs... Would have done them myself but i'm going out of town tomorrow, and just found out about them yesterday...

In my opinion stay away from the 3.8L T-birds, they do have a head gasket problem I know because my brother overheated my 3.8 T-bird. I prefer the 5.0L HO better than the 4.6L because the 5.0L feels like it has more power and responds faster than the 4.6L. Also the 5.0L is less complicated to fix than the 4.6L.
