HELP!!! Timing marks???

I can not post to your thread for some reason. Yes the red mark on the crankshaft pulley aligned W/ the pointer is TDC on cyls 1 & 4. There should be 14 pins of the upper timing chain between the hash marks on the cam sprockets. The silver links of the upper timing chain straddle the sprocket hash marks. Once you rotate the engine the silver links will not be in the same place on the sprockets because of the length of the chains. When cyls 1 & 4 are both at TDC you can look at the cam lobes, you will see that the highest point of the intake and exhaust lobes will be equal on each cylinder. If the intake and exhaust valves on cyl 1 are all closed with the respective cam lobes pointing up like 10 o’clock and 2 o’clock, the intake and exhaust valves on cyl 4 will all be open an equal amount with those cam lobes pointing down. You can rock the engine back and forward and observe the valve overlap that is split at TDC. If you turn the engine one revolution you will observe the exact opposite of what you saw in the previous position.
