Driver's Window
I have a 98 Taurus SE and the drivers window will not go up all of a sudden. The only thing I can see that remotely works this area is the relay under the dash. Could this be the problem? Just a little more info on this, when I pulled the door panel to see if anything worked it's way loose, I felt the window motor and it was pretty hot as well as the relay (the relay was not that bad but warm to touch). Any ideas? I am tired of my daughter driver my car!!!! Please help me

Re: Driver's Window
Test to see if the motor is getting power in the up position. It is possible the motor is worn and jamming causing the relay to overheat.
Test the relay. |

Re: Driver's Window
That is the bad part, it is stuck in the down position. The motor is hotter than anything though. I guess I can always try to change out the relay first. I am sure it isn't cheap either.
![]() How should I read the motor out? What are the specs I should be looking for? |

Tried replacing the relay to no avail. Started tearing things apart and found that the motor slipped in place a little causing the motor to jam on the window gear. Removed and tested the motor works perfect put back in and everything is working fine now. Thanks for all the help.
