Crankshaft position sensor

Hi everyone? I was wondering if anyone knew if a water pump leaking coolant on the crankshaft sensor could damage the sensor. And if the sensor was damaged would any codes come up?

Re: Crankshaft position sensor

Generally no damage would occur as they are sealed. Most of the time the first symptom of a cps going bad is inadvertant stalling. Usually the car will restart but will stall again later. If you are not having stalling issues then the cps is fine.
