ducati 1199

i've been seeing news reports about a new ducati 1199. they are saying its due to the 999 sales being so crap. that ducati have gone back to the 916/996/998 styling and need a bigger donk to compete with the jap inline 4's

i'm thinking its all made up and is someones speculation.

any thoughts. the photo is from a mototrcycle design graduate so may not be real

Cool bike!

Everybody's jumping on Erik Buell's centralized exhaust idea.

Donk?...

Don't be sorry, I love learning new regional colloquialisms.

Re: ducati 1199

I knew that Ducati was developing a 1200 CC twin since they couldn't stand losing for 2 years in WSBK. What a bunch of whiners, the Japanese manufacturers had to stand years of losing because of displacement advantage. And now they're trying their luck again on pressuring FIM. And since most FIM sponsors are Ducati affiliated, they'd probably get their way again. Damn Euro bastards! But all that means for rest of the public is... damn hot bikes every year! I say up the ante!

It's not a speculation since more than one publications started talking about it, and Ducati released some press materials months back, although kept the details private.

I don't think they will adopt the under belly GP exhaust idea, it's not a Ducati thing. As mentioned by Aussie, that's a fan rendering.

They're already taking orders for the Desmosedici V4 already. With the price tag of USD $65K.

Notice the front end looks like 99-05 R6.

Re: ducati 1199

I'd never pay that much for a bike unless it came with homing missles and gave me a blowjob everytime i rode it. And Duc has really got to cut it out with those
silly desmo valves.

Meh, IMO, suzuki SV>>duc.
