need tougher sound

When I bought my 89 Formula, the previous owner had already bought a Dynomax cat-back exhaust. but never had it installed. So, he gave it to me for free with the car. After I installed it, the performance and sound over the rusty 1989 stock exhaust was very noticealbe of course, and I was happy. But, after hearing so many 4th gen exhaust systems, I want a deeper, more throaty, 4th gen sound out of my Bird.
What can I do that won't entail scrapping the entire Dynomax system? Differrent muffler? Mods to increase the car's HP? Any ideas???
