Holy balls

I was just reading superstreet and some guy dicided to write them saying the left out a few motors for the top 10 engines of all time(For those of you that missed it, the list was :1. 13b-rew 2. 2jz-gte 3. 3s-gte 4. 4g63 5. b16/18 6.D16 7.EJ20 8. K20 9. RB26DETT 10. SR20DET)
Anyway this guy started by saying the forgot the 426 hemi or some V8 and then said they left out the ecotec serier of motors and said the new 2.0L supercharged morots(colbaltss and ion redline) come out of the factory with H-beam rods, billet cranks, and forged pistons and the bottom ends are rated to handle over 700hp, I thought that was pretty amazing.

Re: Holy balls

My ass. GM wouldnt overbuild something let alone that well. For example look at my Cavalier's stock suspension and brakes. The suspension sucked ass and you are a lucky mofo to get more than 30k out of brakes. The average is between 20k-25k. They could never mass produce an engine like that for on $20,000 per car? And why would they stick a supercharger than only makes 205 hp?

Re: Holy balls

Well I understand the hp, I mean if they mad cars that put out 500hp from the factory insurance would reem anyone who bought one and therefore cause sales to take a dip. 205 hp is the right number because anyone who wants more can do it but alot of people will be content with 205. 700hp seems a little high to me to but after researching the ecotec program its real. The record at bonniville is over 200mph and the only modification to the motor was the top end

Re: Holy balls

He was writing SuperStreet about a V8...

700hp is very unlikely, and I doubt GM would use such quality parts in such a cheap car. Just dosn't make sense.
