Re: Want a Legalized Skyline in california R32, R33, R34 Look No Further

Hmm... ok it's been sleepy around here, so I'll bite and get the entertainment going for the weekend.

Let's just say for the sake of argument you have all your ducks in a row, and your cars really are legal. Then I am sure you won't mind providing a few bits of info that would legitimize your endeavour:

1) The name of your company and the name of the RI being used to import the cars, so we can see they are licencsed RIs.

2) How it is that you are legally importing an R34 Skyline GTR after the NHTSA recently rescinded the petition allowing R32 and R34 skylines and many R33 Skylines.

3) Post photos of the door post stickers showing that your GTRs do in fact comply with all FMVSS.

4) Post a copy of the NHTSA HS-7 form showing and EPA-3520-1 or 3520-21 form. This will show that the car was "legally" imported. Also the bond release from the NHTSA would be nice.

These facts and forms would be the minimum evidence to post that would demonstrate that you are complying with all applicable laws, without compromising your trade secrets or confidential "intillectual property".

I encourage you to be forthcoming with this information, as it will demonstarte that your business is indeed legitimate.

Or maybe it is not as simple as you though ehh...

I did not bite for the simple fact that there are too many people that have made those claims in the past, so I figure why bother

Until you legitimize your claims, your statements are nothing more than, "I got a bridge in Brooklyn I'll sell you cheap. Hey, customs laws, fuuuuugetabowdit"!

As Skyline USA has stated there is a new guy every week who thinks he is smarter than everyone else and has a way to sneak a Skyline into the country. In the end, breaking the law is breaking the law. Unless you can provide the documentation listed above your Skylines will never be legal.

Any two bit hack can smuggle goods into the country, only a well organized professional can make the process legal. If you are a professional individual, step into the light and be recognized for your achievments. If not, crawl under a rock and stop wasting our time.

Sorry if this seems harsh, but you are merely the next guy in a long line of posers who has not backed up statements with fact. The floor is yours.

So basically you have no idea about the process? Just that they are legal, and you want people to buy them? Not too reassuring.

Well I know that the 96 through 1998 GTS and GT-R have been cleared for import. I read the latest post from the DOT approving them after you meet all FMVSS and emission laws.

Ah, yes... but the only R.I. with the proprietary knowledge to compliance the cars (MOTOREX) is now out of business and is undergoing criminal investigation. It is also debatable if MOTOREX was even compliancing them correctly.

Hopefully another R.I. will pick up the mantle and try their hand at the elusive Skyline importation business. Until then, their is no legal way to import any Skylines.

Actually, J.K. Technologies in Baltimore MD can do the compliance for the R33's that are still allowed for import. I think they charge around $30k. They are a R.I. and are listed on NHTSA's website and EPA's website too.

They were involved in the original petition, but to my knowledge they have not gotten a customer skyline through the compliancing process nor are they intrested. They seem to specialize as an I.C.I.

Many people claim to be able to do it, but so far MOTOREX has been the only R.I. to get cars through legally, and I use the term "legally" very loosely when describing what MOTOREX did.

Your probably right as far as them getting a customers skyline legalized. It really doesn't matter to me because I want the R34 and can't get one unless I fork out about $100k (give or take) to someone that is selling one motorex brought in. I guess I will have to wait til 2024...

Re: Want a Legalized Skyline in california R32, R33, R34 Look No Further

Well I am dam sure 30k is a bit high. Granted the car was never produced for U.S. sales but none the less it is just a car and this is the year 2006. I am sure if you do your research you will find and R.I. that can do the work for a lot less, I did the research on through the DOT and NHSTA, and most of the work needing to be done is to reinforce the vehicle change the odometer to read MPH and emissions I know this can all be costly but not that much. And I will be bringing mine back to the states when I transfer in a couple of years. As a matter of fact go to the following website and give this guy a call, call is cell phone not the shop phone.
