ECM not getting power?

My problem started when I changed my distributor. After getting the engine turned to TDC (top dead center) I cranked the engine and got it to start for about 3 seconds. Sounded great but didn't last. But I need the engine running to set the timing. After that I could not get it to start... I then noticed that the SES light didn't work with the key in the ON position. I know it worked before I got it to start for the 3 secs... So, no power is getting to the ECM. Here's what I tried:

1. I checked the fuses, they're fine.
2. I tried using a new ECM ($150 later), same problem, no SES light.
3. I hooked up my Auto Xray to the ALDL, it read, "Vehicle Not Responding."
4. I went so far as to change the actual bulb for the SES light even though the one in there was fine. No dice.
5. all my other instrument panal bulbs work (AJAR, BRAKE, Directionals). But the "Fasten Seatbelt" light doesn't work either.

Is there any other reason why the ECM is not getting power?
Thanks in advance!

Lightbulb Re: ECM not getting power?

Well, it turns out that the ECM connector at the battery was inadvertantly disconnected... Must've happened from yanking my battery out so many times to recharge it after of course running it down from failed attepts to set my timing.

Well, at least I found another possibilty to add to a troubleshoot solution column.
