Angry HELP! 97 lumina L&R brake light gone first, then won't start totally

I had a 97 lumina.
about a week ago the left and right stop light won't work but top one still working. I ignore that b/c quite busy recently and don't have time to pay attention to it. somehow last night, when driving in the highway, the Volt light turned on and also the ABS light. the Volt light went off after couple of minutes but the ABS light still there. the car was still running untill I stopped at a gas tation and can't start anymore. The only thing I can hear was the clicking tick with all lights in the dashboard on. Got difficult time to put the gear to neutral and have to use padal brake to stop the car when trying to push the car into sideway.

From my experience, it seems the problem is either the starter or the alternator, The only doubt comes from the brake light. wondering the malfunction of brake light has anything to do with the failure of start.

update: I tried to start the car today, and fortunately , I started the car after trying several times and luckly drive the car back home ( ~1 mile away)!! THe ABS light was on this time plus the brake light in the dash. also, just I finished my parking, the airbag light is on.

update 2: I also found that the gas-meter flipping around since a couple weeks ago

GUys with highly experienced give some advice please!
Thanx!!!

when your stuff functions weird like that, it could be your battery. when your battery is shitty, your stuff will malfunctions or systems will slowly shut down in your car. at least mine did that..so you could check that out.

Check the battery, battery cables for corrosion, and your grounds. I agree with cute, whom by the way is female just for reference.

by carefully read all the thread here about the battery, and carefully examine the car, I can finally locate where the battery is and where is the +, but can nenver find the groud (-). Do you mind tell me where it is?
Thanks, man. ( hopefully it is right this time)
