help please?
okay so here is the situation...i had a 2004 srt-4 and had begun modifying it when i lost my job and couldnt afford it any longer so i sold it and purchased a 1993 eclipse gs.ehad this car for a few weeks now...well a few nights ago it dies and i was pretty much told my a buddy of mine whos a mechanic that the money i stick into maki9ng this motor run would be equivilent to buying anew one...my question is..i found a site where u can buy 3g63 turbo motors for like 1500 dollars...how difficult would it be to swap in the first gen turbo 4g63 motor into a 1993 eclipse gs?????any feedback will be welcome

It would be way more difficult and time consuming and cost alot more than you'd want to put into it. Try checking www.car-part.com for a used motor or something if yours is shot.

You might be able to find a 1g for $1500...

Uhhh. I don't think that swapping a 1g motor into a 1g NT would be hard at all.
The motor from the 93 is basicly the same as the one you would swap into it minus the turbo and some other things. If I'm not mistaken you may need a new ecu but that would be all. Everything else is pretty much the same. But I agree, for 1.5k you could buy a good 1g AWD

It's not quite as easy as everyone thinks. $1500 for a motor plus parts/labor to do the swap? Not worth it IMO.
