I already have a 300zx, but im looking for another car to fix up and make into either a show car or a high performance car. If anyone could tell me information on turbo'ing 1996-1998 240sx's, or any websites, it would be much appreciated:sun:

SR20DET!
The best turbocharged application for the S14 (95-98) 240SX would be the swap to the SR20DET. Check out info and pricing here, these guys are AWESOME: www.heavythrottle.com
Yuri and Jeff have helped me with everything I've needed to know. |

Not necessarily "best".
A guy in Texas by the name of Duy just ran a 10.83 at a NHRA drag event in Texas. Here is what a friend of his posted on the SoCal240SX list: "That's right, folks! Start spreading the news! We officially have a 240SX powered by the KA24DET hitting 10 sec. in stock trim. The car belongs to Duy in Houston, TX. Last night, he and his crew (Texas Performance, along with John Le) brought the car to Dallas for the ID Drag War. After blowing the 60-1 turbo he had on before when he made the 11.1 sec. run in Houston that everybody is talking about, he was able to get a hold of a T70 turbo from a friend's Supra the night before the race. It took awhile for them to tune the car with the bigger turbo and for this track (Texas Motorplex). It wasn't until their 4th time trial run that the glittering silver, JUN-front end 240SX hit 11.1 sec. with drag radials and 75-shot NOS to make it into 3rd place of qualifying for the RWD/AWD class. In the elimination rounds, the lone Nissan was up against a crowd of RX-7s. Also racing in this class is the famous RX-7.COM sponsored car of Ari Yallon, current NHRA import drag points leader. Ari ran a 10.00 to qualify for first place. I've forgotten what car lost to Duy's (which was driven by Jason of Texas Performance) in the first round....it was an RX-7 though. Second round (semi-final) was when history was made. Duy was pitted against RX-7.COM's no. 2 car. When the light came green, the Nissan got the holeshot and never looked back. The numbers: 240SX - 10.83 sec @ 131.96 mph, RX-7 - 10.90 sec. There was no doubt the RX-7.COM crew was pissed! LOL To sweeten the deal even more, Duy's car had to face Ari Yallon for the finals. Duy never expected to make it to the finals and run against Ari. After Ari's burnout, his NOS purging definitely showed that he means business and wasn't going to underestimate the turbo 4 cylinder! Jason returned with an awesome burnout to prove that the 240 can hang in the big leagues too. After some intimidation being thrown at the 240, both were staged at the light. Duy's car didn't stand a chance once that light turned green. Ari got the launch then pulled away hard! And he didn't let off one bit! After all was said and done, Ari busted a 9.95 while Jason cruised with an 11.35. Everybody had thought Ari won....but nope he didn't. In fact, Ari disqualified himself by running faster than 10.00 because he doesn't have an NHRA license which allows racers to run the single-digit times. Strange rule, but that's what it says in the handbook. So Duy ends up going back to Houston $2,000 richer, a trophy to show for it, and bragging rights over all who doubted the KA's potential. I wasn't able to get any pics or vids of Duy's run, but his crew did. So be on the lookout for it when they post everything up, from the videos to THE timeslip. Oh, and a new rivalry is brewing too....rotary power versus turbo KA! Tony S13 coupe" -alex |

two ways to go here..
SR20DET -turbo motor very workable good for drifting and road racing because of the power band..sr20det can take 14psi saftly stock. it comes with a t-25 if you get a s-13 red top ka24de-t -adding a turbo to the orginal ka24de motor. also good for road racing and better then sr20det for drag racing.. 8psi saftly stock. turbo varies depending on you.. both motor can be tunned to 400hp saftly.. both are execellent motors but if you are going for drag go ka-t if you are going for drifting\road race go with sr20det 1
