2001 Silverado Daytime lights have never worked

2001 Chevy Silverado. When I start the truck the head lights come on, day or night. I have never seen the Daytime Running Lights work since I bought this truck (used). Any ideas?

Sensor may have fallen into the dash. Do you see the little shiny dome near the middle of the dash up near the front?

Has someone pulled the fuse?

Another good question. Check both fuse boxes and look for DRL fuse.

Look in under hood fuse box.
DRL Fuse no 44 - 10 amp and right and right beside it check for DRL relay.
Sometime people remove one or both to disable them.
Also make sure it is setup for or has DRL lights.
Good Luck

The headlights are coming on right? Wouldn't the fuse being gone just make the DRL's not come on and not affect the headlights?

Re: 2001 Silverado Daytime lights have never worked

Mine was doing that but it was because the sensor on the dash had fallen in. Pretty easy to fix since mine was under warranty, but I dunno how long it would take backyard.

Supposedly you can reach it if you remove the radio, if your arms are thin and long enough.

If you are in PARK the DRL will turn off. Maybe this will help... if not good luck.
