Good News Al-Zarqawi Finally Knocked Off
This certainly is good news but I wonder if the insurgency attacks in Iraq will ever decrease with his death.

Re: Good News Al-Zarqawi Finally Knocked Off
i was watching the local news this morning and they came on with the announcement that they had killed him. honestly, it sort of brightened my day. it seems like the US is MAYBE make some head way over there. i think it is good that we were able to get him, but i don't know if it will really quell the attacks that the troops face over there. either way i think it is a positive step in the whole mess.

Re: Good News Al-Zarqawi Finally Knocked Off
the way the groups are organised and run, the death of an individual doesn't really mean a lot.
all that will happen is that someone else will quickly take his place.

Re: Good News Al-Zarqawi Finally Knocked Off
Though there may be others to take his place, they will not likely be as devious and as firey of a leader as he was. Also, the diffuse orginaztion structure that makes Al-Qaida such a difficult group to destroy also makes it hard for them to reorganize when their leadership is removed.
I believe this is going to hurt the long term planning and logistics of the insurgents.

Nicholas Burg's dad is a piece of shit. They cut his sons fucking head off and he wished he could have had a reconciliation with the guy.

![]() He sounds like a bitter old man with an agenda. He should be grateful his son's death was avenged. Speaking of which his son was not media, in the armed forces or a missionary, etc. He was a businessman that went to Iraq for personal gain riding on the shirt tails of the invasion and subsequent occupation and lost his head over it. No one forced him to go to Iraq. Eugene Armstrong's family said this: "An evil man is dead, and what more can you say?" said family spokeswoman Cyndi Armstrong, the wife of the slain contractor's cousin.

Re: Good News Al-Zarqawi Finally Knocked Off
I knew it was going to be a good day when I saw Fox News head line say that and then they showed live footage of the USS Cole sailing off toward the Mideast. To me it seemed like throwing salt in the wound.

Re: Good News Al-Zarqawi Finally Knocked Off
According to the latest news he lived up to an hour after the bombs were dropped. Too bad he did not live longer and suffer more like his victims.

Re: Good News Al-Zarqawi Finally Knocked Off
It's probab;y because he's not as big of a threat anymore. He dosen't have the ability to plan and carry them out like the other Al Quaeda ppl. But when they do find him I hope they put him in Levinworth when he gets sentenced executing him would only make him a martyr.
