Engine casting number question...

Where are the numbers located for a 440 engine? If I'm not mistaken there are two different locations for the casting number.

Re: Engine casting number question...

Ok nevermind. I found the numbers.

Here's another question... is there any way other then the vin number or fender tag (and engine) to tell the difference between a standard 1968 charger and a 1968 Charger R/T? The charger I "won" on Ebay is supposed to be an R/T and it's suppose to have a 440 in it (says so in the auction description) but the engine is a 383, not a 440.

I'm wondering if the engine is the original engine and the car really isn't an R/T or if the 440 was changed out at some point for a 383. The vin says it's an R/T. The fender tag was removed. I'd heard there's sometimes another tag under the backseat but I didn't find anything.

So... anyone know another way to tell the difference?
