Angry MP3 playlist order keeps getting screwed up!

This is really, really frustrating.

I have the lastest version of Windows Media Players (10.0 or whatever it is), and I burn a lot of MP3s, onto both CDs and HD media. When you burn an audio CD, everything is cool...the CD playes everything in the order requested during the burn. My problem is with mp3s: somehow, regardless of what order I have placed them in the "Sync" or "Burn" list in the Media player, everything gets randomly jumbled up when played after the sync/burn. E.g., I'll have song 1, 2, 3 and 4 burned as data MP3s on a CD. When played on an MP3 player, however, the playslist order will not be the same as I had them burned/synced; song 3 will play, then 1, then 4, then 2, etc. The order will not be based upon file size, name, or date added; it seems to be completely random. The same thing happens with MP3s I sync onto my portable 256mb mp3 player for the gym. The order of songs is not the same as I had them sync'd. And yes, shuffle and random are set to "off" on all players.

Has anyone else had this playlist problem? Could it just be WinMedia Player? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

windows media 11 is out now but it is only in beta form. Have you tried using any other software for burning(I.E. Nero,Itunes, ect?).

Your player automatically arranges things alphabetically. Rename everything as follows:

A-song1.mp3
B-song2.mp3
C-song3.mp3

See if that solves the problem.

Not really, I did this before, it didnt work. The playlist, as I mentioned in my post, seems to be completely random, not based on filename, size or date modified; I checked. I'm going to use winamp now to see if this problem can be corrected.
