One night when i was leaving work i desided to Rev up the motor and punch the gas as i turned the corner the car started to jump kinda like driving over a bunch of small speed bumps in the road once i got the car straight it went away
its kinda hard to explain what the car did but it only does it with alot of gas and when i am turning sharp |

Re: Thumping and studdering on Fast Cornering
Wheel hop maybe? If so, polyurethane motor mounts would be a good investment....well they aren't bad to have anyways.

Re: Thumping and studdering on Fast Cornering
yea i guess it could be wheel hop but that is caused by a motor mount?

Re: Thumping and studdering on Fast Cornering
so, were ur tires even spinning??? if not, then it wasn't wheel hop... fwd vehicles are notorious for losing alignments... u may want to have your wheels aligned, as it may have been dragging one wheel... therefore it was hopping along...
does the car shake at high speeds???

Re: Thumping and studdering on Fast Cornering
Shaking at high speeds usually means unbalanced wheels. Veering off into the median or oncoming traffic usually means that you're out of alingment. I would take it in and get the both fixed while you're at it so if it happens again, you can start look at suspension part failures. (ie. broken/bent control arm, bad bushing, etc)

Re: Thumping and studdering on Fast Cornering
yeah... check the bolts on your control arms as well... had a few problems out of them before... ^I agree with him... if it's driving straight though, it may not be the alignment... check the wheels... my cousin's car would stutter and shake while going straight... of course, this was after she jumped a ditch and went through a field... all she had to do was clean the mud out of the rims and it drove fine
