Re: And it begins
![]() ![]() Spent a couple hours yesterday and today after work tearing it down. Couple of bolts and the front sheet metal is off. Looks like I need to go get a new driverside inner fender. It's all rotted to hell, due to a leaky overflow tank. The fender isn't all that great either. Has to get worse before it can get better. |

Re: And it begins
Umm well shave the door locks, 3" body lift with new bushings, lift bumpers, try painting it, tint it a little, 31's or 32's, remove running boards, and powder coat the crap out of it! I already did the back bumper gloss black and it looks much better. I'll get some new numper bolts and then do the front one. I work at a powder coating shop so I do it for free. We have SOooooooo much of this purple powder that I plan on using. Basically supsension and engine parts.

Re: And it begins
![]() Took a couple hours and got the old motor pulled. I was actually able to sell it and the tranny for $100. Cheap I know, but now it's gone. |

Re: And it begins
Damn that would be sweet, i wanted to do an LT1 swap so bad but the money at the time was a little low. Guy wanted 1000 for the motor and a freshly rebuilt trans. Oh well.
This should be a nice project when its done. You should see my parts blazer looks like it was raped, no doors, fenders, engine, trans, tailgate, bumpers, control arms. Looks like a frame and a shell.

Re: And it begins
Believe me i thought about it i almost went on a payment plan with him, knew the guy pretty well. But i needed my current blazer back on the road, and i needed an econo box for my nice comute to work. Hes going to irag and wants the car gone so i might get some cash together before he leaves and get it, but i wanted to keep to the stock 4.3 setup only for the fact that everyone rags on v6 engines, if i could pop a low 14 out of a 4.3 in a blazer id shit my self, that would be sweet.
My parts blazer was well sold for parts, motor went for 250, trans was 100, control arms were 50 doors 100, windshield 100, fenders were 50 each, bumpers were 50 for both. I spent 1800 for it then 2 months later no first gear so i started selling parts. Bought another one for 1000 and broke the rear 2 months later, see a patern.
