Question Am I the only one?

I just wanted to know if I was the only one here driving (and enjoying) the SW1 and lamenting it's discontinuation.

Everybody else is into either SC2s or SL2s; no respect for the single-cams and/or wagons

The single cam part I can live without. But I am an advocate of my 95 SW2. I will defend that car to the end.

One of my biggest mistakes in life was selling that car, but when it comes to a choice of house or car, you tend to take the house.

95 sw2

I have a 1995 sw2 and love it. I hope to be able to get another Saturn after this one (in 10 years or so)

It was fun to drive. It had enough power to smoke even the big V-6's. It handled awesome, and got 36mpg. It only had one problem, I smoked the altenator on it, which was my fault, and Saturn covered it under warranty. I sold it with 117,000 miles. It allowed my wife and 3 of my kids to walk away from an accident that cost the insurance company $11,000.00 to put the car back together, and when it was done, it drove perfect. Dealership support was outstanding. All aspects of owning and driving the car were outstanding. I just can't say enough.

i have a 95 sw2

i have a 95 sw2 and i love it, i hate some things about it, like my seats and the overall size of the car but thats just because im a big guy. 6'3"
@ 200 lbs
it handles great, speed is great, acceleration is not to shabby (slightly better then good, hell it will beat any geo from here to ford country)
but the best part about it is the twincam. other then that its jsut an oil change ever 3k miles.

Re: i have a 95 sw2

Had a 95 SC-1 SOHC Drove it 5 years (70,000 miles) no problems it was a great car. The only reason I don't have it now is cause of the deal I got on my Sunfire, low interest rate, & the Saturn dealer here didn't want to gave a good deal on a ION 3 QC.

Just got a 97 SW2. I love it. This is the first car I have ever owned, since I started driving I have had a Chevy Suburban, Ford Bronco, Jeep Cherokee, and Isuzu Trooper. I think this is more fun to drive then any of them! My grandmother owned this car and hardly put 28,000 miles on it. My gf has an 01 SL2 and has only 5000 miles less! I dunno but I think mine is faster than hers.

Re: Am I the only one?

DOOOD!! Thats MY car! LOL. It IS faster. You have the performace chip next to the shifter that improves shit points and increases Air/Fuel. Gains 1/2 sec on the 1/4 in performace. Thats alot! Tint the windows, lower it 3" and theres my car.

SW2 comments, and remote question

I have a '97 SW2, Gold, and I like it okay as far as how it drives and all, but there is not much room for my left leg. I am 6'0". I'd like to be able to stretch out my left leg sometimes, but the wheel well is in the way. I have 10 more months of payments on it, and then maybe I can get something for it and try to upgrade. However, I have 96K miles on it, so maybe not. It is also a little cramped for my 5'1" son in the back. He's 10, and tall everywhere, legs and torso, and he spends more time in my husband's SUV, where there is much more room.

Other problem is that the headliner is now coming off, and I broke my remote. Just bought a new remote on eBay, so I hope I can reprogram it without going to the dealer. I didn't want to pay $55 at the dealer for a new remote.

Well, I'll keep looking for remote info, and repost here if I don't find anything.

Re: Am I the only one?

welcome!

i'm 6'2" i've had my saturn for three years now. the size was a problem at first too, more getting in. now i have a perfect "fall-in butt-first" method.

the remote does require a special scantool, so you will have to go to the dealership, if your lucky, sometimes they will it for free, otherwise, i think is $20 or $30.

i have heard of problems with the headliner, but never have worked with one. ask over at saturnfans.com, i'm sure someone over there has
