Transmission Problem? 2000GT

Wondered if anyone was familiar with syptoms of Torvington or differential bearing failure? Car makes grinding sound similar to bad hub bearing, but replaced those with OE. My mechanic has suggested possible tranny problem.

Re: Transmission Problem? 2000GT

Have you gotten it stuck or did any one wheel burn outs? You don't seen the Torrington bearings in the diff go much but inside the trans the Input planetary bearing goes a lot. Also the input drum bearings are troublesome also. I would defiantly advise a tranny pan drop and see what in the pan or contaminates.

Also how many miles on your car and did he check for a bad tire.
