Time to let the cat out of the bag.

Some of you know that I'm trying to sell my daily driver. Just in case you're wondering, I plan on replacing it. I have two cars in mind right now, but I'm open to suggestions. I'm looking to spend no more than around $10,000. I am looking at six cylinder turbo, AWD or RWD, manual transmission, coupes. Anyhow, here are the two cars I'm considering:

1991-1996 Dodge Stealth R/T TT
1990-1995 Nissan 300ZX TT

Let me know what you think of these two cars. If you don't think I should get either, then post up a suggestion. Just remember, this will be my daily driver until the GTC is done and then it will become my next project car.

Re: Time to let the cat out of the bag.

the problem is you wont find the stealth or 300 for under 10,000 in good condition. They are great cars, I'd rather have the 300Z because of reliability but they were most likely beaten the crap out of before they were put on sale.

Actually, I have found them in good shape for less than 10k. Hell a first gen books for about $6500.

Neither, I am looking for six cylinders. It would have to be a VR6.

Re: Time to let the cat out of the bag.

you can get a golf V6. not sure what displacement it is.

the golf 1.8-T isn't slow. i think the stock engines are 150bhp. but this can easily be upped to a TT-spec 225bhp.

I know, but I have a fast FWD four cylinder. I want a six cylinder turbo with AWD or RWD.

Re: Time to let the cat out of the bag.

the GTI VR6 is a 2.7 and makes less whp than the 1.8t. A 2001 1.8 makes 150 at the crank which is 130 at the wheels and a 2002 makes 180 at the crank and puts down 170whp. the VR6 has 180 crank and 135 at the wheels, but they do make superchargers for the VR6

Re: Time to let the cat out of the bag.

I suggest a MK3 Turbo Supra, I love those cars and you can beat them to the ground and it will still run. Not to mention you have a good after market for them if you ever decide to get another car and make that your 2nd project.

Yeah but I doubt he would want to import one since it would cost him alot more than what he wants to spend. It would be cheaper to grap a 2000-2002 GTI or Jetta(more practical) VR6 and supercharge it himself

Re: Time to let the cat out of the bag.

go for the 300zx tt but i'd go for a later one (94+) low mileage here (or at least close to here) you can pick them up for like 5k tt or 2k na.
put the rest under the hood or do a swap with the vg30dett engine if you can't find a good tt one.
