95 Fuel System Trouble
I have been having trouble with my 95 taurus for some time. The car will die out of nowhere seemingly from a fuel problem. I took the car to be repaired and they replaced the fuel lines and told me that was the problem. About 500 miles later it is dying again. It still starts and if I release the pressure in the fuel line with the valve it will run for about a block then die again. It seems to be getting air into the fuel system somehow. Does anyone know of a similar case or what the problem might be? [email protected]

Re: 95 Fuel System Trouble
Sounds like possibly a faulty fuel pressure regulator and/or faulty electric fuel pump.
You may want to start by replacing the fuel filter and adding a bottle of fuel injector cleaner to the fuel tank. Sure, this probably won't help your problem, but well worth the money and may prevent future issues. Your next step should be to find a fuel pressure guage and appropriate Ford adapter (most pressure guages come with the Ford adapter) then when the car refuses to start, install the guage and report back here what the pressure you are seeing is. -Rod |
