'94 Chevy AC possible problem.
2500, 4X4, AT, 5.7L v8. Short Bed
Compressor makes a sort of rumbling / grinding noise only when engaged. Very quiet when un-engaged. It has plenty of pressure (Around 45lbs) and does blow cold. If I let it go and it fails, will I be dead in the water, or just have no ac ? I know a new compressor means big $$. Compressor swap shouldn't be done at home ? I'm really afraid of being towed again, that was a huge expense, compared to which most of these maintenance items are small $$. |

If you keep on using it with the compresser running it could lock up and burn the belt or pulley off and then you will be a dead duck. MT
