someone stole some of my checks!

ohhh yes, some sick bastard stole checks from my check book. granted the piece of shit only stole 4, but still. i got a notice from Kwik trip stating i owe them 70 bucks... by shear stroke of luck i closed my account litterally days before the check the check was written. however in my check #'s its the second one stolen. which still shouldnt be a problem... i hope. im goin to go to the police tomorrow... w/ my check book they stole the checks from, the box < fingerprints maybe.... since only 3 ever touched the box, myself, and my parents. granted as much as ild like to get my hands on who ever stole it... ild sue but its probibly not worth my time. i hope the guy gets prosicuted bad though. ill be pissed if they get off easy.... i mean my work literally is what keeps the local cruisers running, and my boss graduated with some of the cops.

Re: someone stole some of my checks!

I had the same thing happen (bad roommate). Report it to your bank immediately, and they should report it to the police. Jump on this quickly, the Kwik Trip(store) should have video showing who tried to cash the check. You've already closed the account, so no worries there. If there was personal info on the check like your SS#, then you'll want to put a fraud warning on your credit with the credit reporting agencies.

But move quickly, as sometimes the store security videos aren't kept for long.

Your bank will probably pursue this very vigorously, and will put a watch on for the remaining checks.

Nail the bastid.
