Question Anchoring your camper shell, what's best?

I picked up a clean camper shell for my 02 ex-cab w/ the 6 ft. bed. I have a low profile tool box that runs down one side and completely blocks access to the underside of the bedrail. I would like to keep the tool box and I really don't like the factory clamps either. Sheet metal screws are not an option. Do ya'll think that the expanding rubber anchors that go in the stake holes with the bolt through the shell and a plate of some kind on top of the shell lip would hold the shell on secure enough? Thanks Cliff

the expanding rubber anchors that go in the stake holes. thay will work. you can also add some C clamps. I have seen them used when the top must be remove a lot. a strip of rubber under the claps and top should keep the pait in good shape.

Aluminum c-clamps are used by a number of manufacturers and work great. Any shell shop has them.

Thanks, but I have a set of these clamps and they work good on the side without the tool box. I was just looking for something a little cleaner than them that would do the same thing.
