Unhappy need a new engine

So I had my camaro running....

and oil was leaking out of the oil pressure switch, well I got that fixed...

but I think it was too late and now you can't even turn it over with a wrecking bar.

So I think I am just going to get a new engine... might as well go ls1 while I'm at it right? Is an lt1 -> ls1 swap easy? I don't want to take on too big of a job because I will need the car to get to work. I'm going to have to sell my other car to get the engine. I can burrow a car from my dad but not for too long.

Re: need a new engine

if he was gonna get a crate GM 572.. TPI would make it a lot more efficient than a carb per se.

you mean a new engine, because stepho has the Lt1 already.

About the 572 TPI lol, I did not know that, but you're right, FI helps a lot. How much I don't know.

Re: need a new engine

I don't think I am going to put a 572 in it.

I think I am going to get an lt1 though, that way I can save money, because I won't have to get anything but the block... and whatever else is blown up.

The engine is coming out this weekend so I'm going to have a look at it and see if there are any other options.

My father wants to rebuild it, but it had a tiny crack in the water jacket before, so I'm thinking its probably not going to be worth it to rebuild it.

I will keep you guys updated, thanks for your suggestions.

Re: need a new engine

If you really want an LS1, go for it. We're just saying to save money, you could just get an LT1 again. I'm getting an LT1 because I like the design.
