87 CRX DX - Stalls when coming to a stop
Rebuilt the carb, new ignition wires, plug wires, plugs, fuel filter, mechanical fuel pump.
A/C solenoid boost doesn't appear to be working so I set the engine idle-up to 1500 to compensate. Doesn't do this all the time but, when coming to a complete stop, with the clutch in, and braking, it will stall-out. I pump it once and it starts back up again. Also have to rev it to 3K rpm or higher to get moving else it tries to stall. What's the major issue when it stalls when coming to a stop? |

Re: 87 CRX DX - Stalls when coming to a stop
I too have this same problem, on my '85 Civic hatch. Is your problem basically that it won't idle? I was told by someone that also had this problem, that they rebuilt their carb twice before it ran right, but I haven't tried this yet. I too am looking for answers!

Re: 87 CRX DX - Stalls when coming to a stop
Think the secret lies in the vaccume hoses... of which there are many. I know there is a cut in at least one. Someone recommended that I run the engine and pinch the hoses that are coming out of the carb. If it accelerates, that means I've created a vaccume and that hose needs replaced.

Aah so you've found the problem this way? Thanks a lot! I'll try this.
