Differences in 92-96 LT1s

What were the changes and additions that took places from 92 - 96 for the vettes with the LT1/T56? Was the 96 an OBDII and are there any advantages to that?

Well, I wish I could answer this question better, but don't know near as much about the 95 & 96 as I do the pre 95 & 96 models, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

As far as mechanically, in 93 the torque on the lt1 went up 10lbs, so that would be an advantage, and if your getting an automatic, def. try for a late-93 or newer, because they changed in mid 93 from the old 4l60 (700r4) to the newer electronically controlled 4l60E. Also, one of the biggest things to look for, that year model doesn't really have anything to do with, is the rear end gears. If your getting a standard, you should be in good shape, if your getting and automatic, be carefull, b/c almost all were geared pretty high, w/2.59 gears. If you do go the automatic route, try to find one with the 3.45 rear end gears. (will say GM3 for 3.45 on the production options sticker in the center console instead of GM1 for the 2.59's) Also, i know the 95 & 96 has the newer optispark 2 distributer, which is less prone to ruining due to moisture getting into it than the original optispark. (if you're not familiar with optispark distributor's, you better get ready, they suck to change!)

I think the trend pretty much follows that of 93-97 F-Bodies. Whenever GM upgraded the engine, it went to both cars.

Yeah that's pretty much accurate, just most of the time the f-bodies lagged around 1 year behind with most changes, but not all.
