Question 1994 Buick Regal Grand Sport Starting Problems

Hello,

I have been having some off and on problems with my buick. About every 3+ months or so very random and not not depend on heat, cold etc my regal will just not start. when you turn the key all the regular lights come one and you will hear nothing at all. the key has one of the security chips and i will try another key that i have in the car and that wil not do anything either. There are NO security lights etc. I do have a remote start and even when i try to start it with that it will try to act like it is doing something but the starter will never crank etc. Seems like if i play with the door unlock/lock and wait some 15-20 mins the car will just all of a sudden start and it will be fine for quite sometime. I do have a shut off swith on the remote start and i have turning that off/on when im having the problem and not luck either. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Any help or suggestions would be awesome. car is well taken care of and i have about 140,000 miles on it. 3.8 engine. Thanks Again Justin

Does the Dashboard lights Dim/go out when you attemmpt to start it? Do they stay lit when the vehicle wont start?
Have you done the basics, such as check the connections on the starter, and the wires coming and going from there???
I'm not completely sure that your car has the security chip. If it does (and im probbakly wrong and your has it), is it possible that the Ohm load is off? (i believe that they used ohm impedance for the security).. Id check there first.
Does tapping the starter work? I see that you said that the lock/unlock had something to do with it... I have never heard of that one.....

Re: 1994 Buick Regal Grand Sport Starting Problems

yes the dash lights will go out when it (Acts) like it going to start. And they do stay light when the car does not start. check wires etc and dont see any major problems plus i dont top anything to they and the car after 15-20 mins will start anyways. im 100% my key has a security chip in it. i have compaired the ohm reading and it is the same as the other key that came with the car. and i have tryed even when i was having problem using my 2nd key and no success. any suggestions?
