Fixing up my 82' L-TC

Well folks I bought my Lincoln in ok condition, yet maintenance is required. only 86,000 mi.

Replaced parts: Rotor & cap, Plugs & wires, Air filter, breather filter, fuel filter, radiator, heat valve, heat hose...

Symptoms left, Sputters sometimes tries to die(I think head gaskets are bad::losing compression::?!), tremmors at around 30+mph, mysterious metal rattle when hitting bumps/

A/C - all works but control unit, needs conversion, only blows threw defrost:heat always on floor and defrost...

all in all its in way better condition than when i got it...

your sputter could also be a result of a bad idle/air control valve. may be bad fuel pump/filter? do you smell anti-freeze from your exhaust. have you noticed that you are loosing anti-freeze at all and it is not dripping on the ground? also, does the car tend to blow a lot of white smoke?

with you A/C, sometimes what happens is the vacuum lines come undone or corrode, result in airflow from certain places. this happened to my 95 town car. the hose to release air from the vents (not the defrost or floor) fell out and all i had to do is plug it back in. you might want to check that first before you do anything major to your A/C.

82 Town Car is like a land yahct. its nice to see the old "tank" version of town cars still on the road
