cooler line doesn't fit.. how would I fabricate new one?

The transmission cooler line doesn't fit because i guess halfway through the year of 97, they redesigned the cavalier's cooler line. The cooler line i have is flat, and the top line isn't long enough to reach and seal. I know the cooler line that goes in the transmission has a rubber spacer but im not really sure what it looks like. if you know what it looks like or have an idea, how can i make the top tube fit and handle the pressure? even the dealership nearby doesn't have the cooler assembly. and the closest salvage yard is about 20 mins away and it is pick n pull so they dont even know what they have.
