Re: how to replace hood 94 metro

Are you sure the hood is the problem. the "latch" part that is on the hood is just a bar in the middle, not on the side. the only thing I can think of that you are asking about is the hinge, as there is one on each side. The hinges are attached to the hood by two bolts each that are removable with a 12mm ratchet or combination wrench. If the hinge broke it would be replaced seperately from the hood and unless the threaded holes in the hood broke out, or there is some other damage to the hood, replacing it shouldn't be necessary. To replace a hinge you need to remove the hood(held on by 4 bolts, 12mm), wiper arms (1 nut each, not sure what size), the cowl cover (it's the plastic piece under the wiper arms, phillips scredriver and something to pop out the plastic connector plugs) and then there are two bolts that hold the hinge to the car (I believe they are 12mm also).

Re: how to replace hood 94 metro

the part that is broken is um drivers side hinge. hood is bent the round eye that is on the hood is broken.

the eye part on the hood. I mean ill look again to see if it somehow screws off. looks pretty much welded.

the whole hood is warped but if there were a small part available id buy it lol.

ok so to remove the hood from latches i do what?

to take a hood off a parts car i do what? to put it on my car i do what? which tools 12 mm ? i need to remove the hinge from the hood is what im saying thats the part thats broken, and put the hinges on a new hood.

its not welded on, thats just a sealer they use to keep hood bolts fron working loose and extra strength for the hood, take the bolts of and flex it a little or pop the bottom of the hood by hinge, should pop free
