5-speed swap, '91 wagon, need suggestions

I've got two complete vehicles, so I should have most everything I need. I have both '91 and '94 wagons with a 1.9's. The '91 is a clean 86K vehicle with a bad slush box, and the '94 is a beat turd with a hopefully good 5-speed.

I've pulled the engine and manual trans from the '94, and have the car sitting aside to pull the pedal assembly and shift linkage etc.

My main question is, will I need to pull the entire engine/trans assembly from the auto, or just the trans? Which would be easier?

Also, are the ECU's compatible, or will they need swapped?

If anyone has done a similar swap, your input would be much appreciated!
