Anti-terrorism funding - politically-motivated?
Blue voting New York, NY, loses 40% funding, and Red voting Charlotte, NC gains 40% more?

Re: Anti-terrorism funding - politically-motivated?
Though, I don't doubt that politics played a big part of it; NY is still getting the a huge pot of cash. 124 million is still a lot of pork to pass around.
Here's the laundry list of our tax dollars being dolled out. http://www.dhs.gov/interweb/assetlib...local_fy06.pdf 1 is California at 231 million 2 is NY at 124 (Virtually all for the NYC) 3 is Florida at 100

Re: Anti-terrorism funding - politically-motivated?
What's sad is some bean farms are getting money for protection from Homeland Security while The Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty gets $0.00. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. Stinking plants are more important that people lives. Congress is screwed in the head.

However, you are right, when the states actually get the $$$, it isn't necessarily spent on what it should be. |
